My story consists of ramie fabric and thread.  ramie fabric to me is a very familiar object. Since I was young, ramie fabric has been sitting in my house and my mother always has been using it for sewing. I was naturally influenced by such familiar appearance and behavior. I become stabilized and draw comfort from conducting such action, and such action has become a way of expressing my own story.

 

The unique stiffness of ramie fabric allows me to form a 3D structure. I let my hands freely fold and connect ramie fabric pieces. At this point, sewing, serving as another important way of expression, allows me to diverse express the thickness, pattern and color ofthe thread. Such pieces are combined into one complete piece. complete piece may come out to be geometric or organic.

 

When the shaping is complete, the metal processing is initiated. To allow the piece to become a wearable jewelry, the stainless steel is used to manufacture a suitable shape. Then the thread isused once again to cover the piece up. The thread not only forms a connection with the ramie fabric, but also enhances the completeness of the shape through providing a sense of space in a shape of ramie fabric.

 

Such complete ramie fabric-based jewelry becomes an abstract 3D object that is fabric-friendly and solid.
